About the designer
Hi I am Lyn and welcome to my website, The Jewellery Tree. My journey with making jewellery began as far back as the early 1980's when big, bold, colourful fimo jewellery was all the rage. I moved from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland in 1985 and began selling my handcrafted creations at Eumundi Market, just for a few years. I had a break from selling jewellery to raise my family and returned to it in the early 2000's, this time with a stall at Cotton Tree Markets in Maroochydore on a Sunday. Along came the COVID-19 crisis which shut down the markets for a few months and so with a great deal of help from my very clever daughter, I set up my website and began to sell online for the first time. I continue with the market at Cotton Tree mainly on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and the second Saturday of the month finds me at the Montville Market up in the hinterland.
My style has changed over the years when I become entranced with SWAROVSKI crystals and beautiful glass beads, including Murano Glass beads which have become a passion, as well as beautiful gemstone beads. I still do use fimo beads in my creations, although I don't make the beads myself as they are readily available already made.
Many of my creations, especially my beaded bracelets and necklaces, are one-off creations, similar in style but each one different from the next. I love the colour blue and this is reflected in the many items for sale in that lovely colour.
The beads I choose for my pieces are all of high quality as well as the various metals I use. Importantly, the ear-wires are all hypoallergenic, whether they be sterling silver, 14kt gold-filled or surgical stainless steel as they are nickel free in each case.
Beading is my "happy place" and I love to have contact with the people who give my creations a new home. If I can help in any way to assist you in making a choice or with any queries you may have, please feel free to contact me and do keep in touch via my Facebook and Instagram pages or contact me at lyn@thejewellerytree.com.au. Thank you for visiting my store :)
